The following information explains icons used in Scanner Operation Monitor window:
Scanners are divided into the following three general categories, and an icon is assigned for each sub-category.

The operating status of a scanner is indicated by the following icons and symbols:

For image scanners
This section shows the icon examples of the departmental/workgroup scanner (ADF type).
| Icon | Operating Status | Description |
|---|---|---|
| In use | Shows that the scanner is online, and that a user is logged in. The icon becomes a scanner in color with a blue computer display. |
|
| Offline | Shows that a user is logged out, that the scanner power is off, or that the scanner is not connected. The icon becomes a scanner in color with a black computer display. |
|
| Unreported | Shows that the operating status of the scanner is unknown. The icon becomes a faint black and white scanner with a “!” displayed. |
|
| Unknown | Shows that the type of scanner is unknown, or that the type of scanner is not supported. This icon becomes a faint black and white scanner with a "?" displayed. |
|
| Unregistered | Shows that the scanner is added to the scanner configuration, and is not added to the Scanner Central Admin Server configuration. This icon becomes a box with a "?" displayed. Configure the settings from Scanner Central Admin Agent to change the status of the scanner registration to registered status. |
For network scanners
This section shows the icon examples of ScanSnap N1800.

| Unreported | Shows that the operating status of the scanner is unknown. This icon becomes a faint black and white scanner with a "!" displayed. |

| Unregistered | Shows that the scanner is added to the scanner configuration, and is not added to the Scanner Central Admin Server configuration. This icon becomes a box with a "?" displayed. Configure the setting from the scanner to change the status of the scanner registration to registered status. |
Description of Symbols
The following symbols which are next to scanner icons are described below:
