If PaperStream Capture (Pro) shows this message, check the following.
- The scanner is powered on and connected to the computer.
- Select [Configure Jobs] from the menu
and select a job that you want to edit. Then, click the [Edit] icon to display the [2. Source] window and check whether you can select PaperStream IP fi-XXXX(*). Check whether you can scan documents after saving a job.
*The name of the connected scanners are shown in fi-XXXX. - In the Simple Scan mode, you can select the connected scanner by clicking the [Select Scanner] button in the toolbar. Check whether you can scan documents after selecting the scanner.
- If another application is using the scanner, temporarily exit the application, then check whether you can scan documents.

If the name of the connected scanner is not displayed, check the following.
- Is a scanner driver installed?

Open the [Programs and Features] window on Windows and check whether the PaperStream IP driver is installed.
Note: PaperStream Capture is a 32-bit application, so it cannot be used with PaperStream IP (TWAIN x64). Install PaperStream IP (TWAIN).
- Is a scanner driver installed?

If the problem still persists, it may be due to that the driver or scanner is not responding properly. Try the following and check whether the problem is solved.
- Try restarting the computer.
- Try uninstalling the driver, then installing the latest driver.
The driver (PaperStream IP) can be downloaded from fi Series Software Downloads.
- If you are using anti-virus software or any other software that restricts the USB devices, try stopping the software.
