The following messages(Code: DS42005 / DS42021) appear.
You can still continue scanning even when these messages are displayed by clicking the [Ignore] button.
Note that while the brake roller and pick roller are described below, the process is the same for the other rollers and the print cartridge, so you can refer to the below description when replacing the other rollers or the print cartridge.

Please deal with the issue in the following order.
- Checking the sheet counters for the consumables
- Replacing the consumables
- Resetting the sheet counters for the consumables
1. Checking the sheet counters for the consumables
- Click [Start] menu > [fi Series] > [Software Operation Panel] to start up the Software Operation Panel.
- From the list on the left, select [Device Setting].
- Check the sheet counters for the consumables such as the brake roller and pick roller.
When the background color is light yellow, the time to replace the consumables(*1) is approaching.
When the background color is dark yellow, the time to replace the consumables(*1) has passed.
- Replace any consumables that are approaching or have exceeded the replacement time.
The life cycles of the brake roller and pick roller are the same, so it is recommended to change both at the same time.

Use genuine articles to replace the consumables.
If consumables are replaced with non-genuine articles, product-specific performance cannot be fully achieved and the scanner may be damaged.
If the scanner is damaged or any failures or errors arise from using non-genuine articles, repairs will be charged even within the warranty period. |
3. Resetting the sheet counters for consumables
- Click [Start] menu > [fi Series] > [Software Operation Panel] to start up the Software Operation Panel.
- From the list on the left, select [Device Setting].
- Click the [Clear] button for the consumable or consumables that you replaced, such as the brake roller and pick roller.
- Make sure that "0" is displayed for the counter value, then click the [Apply] button.
- After a confirmation message is displayed, click the [OK] button.
*1: | You can specify the replacement cycles for consumables in [Life Counter Alarm Setting]. Start up the Software Operation Panel and select [Device Setting 2] > [Life Counter Alarm Setting] from the list on the left. Specify a value as the replacement cycle for each of the consumables. The value can range from 10,000 to 2,550,000 sheets (in increments of 10,000). If you want the message to stop showing temporarily, change the value to a large number. |
