Your computer cannot use the scanner while another computer is using or occupying the scanner. Check whether the other computer using the scanner is in the following status.
- If PaperStream Capture or another application is using the scanner*, exit the application after using.
*The scanner is occupied while the settings window of the PaperStream IP driver is displayed.
So, close the window. - When PaperStream ClickScan is running, exit it. When the PaperStream ClickScan icon is displayed in the notification area on the taskbar, the PaperStream ClickScan occupies the scanner even when the window is not displayed. Right-click the PaperStream ClickScan icon in the notification area on the taskbar and select [Exit].
- If [Watch Button Event] is selected on the menu of Button Event Manager, right-click the Button Event Manager icon in the notification area on the taskbar and select [Exit].
- If the [Occupy the scanner to shorten the start time for a scan] checkbox is selected in the [General] tab of PaperStream Capture Administrator Tool, clear it.
