Precaution
- To use fi Series Online Update, the computer must be connected to the Internet.
- Log in to the computer as a user with administrator privileges.
Procedure:
- Select the [Start] menu > [fi Series Online Update] > [fi Series Online Update Settings].
- Select the [Enable firmware update] checkbox and click the [OK] button to close the window. This is not enabled by default.
- Make sure that the scanner and computer are connected before turning on the scanner.
- Select the [Start] menu > [fi Series Online Update] > [fi Series Online Update].
- fi Series Online Update will automatically check whether there are any software updates after starting up.
- When "Firmware (fi-XXXX) Latest version: XXXX" is displayed in the [fi Series Online Update] window, select the checkbox and click [Start Update].
After this, follow the instructions displayed in the window to update the firmware.
Attention: Do not turn off the scanner or the computer, or unplug USB cables, during the firmware update.
- After the update is complete, check the firmware version as follows.
How to check the firmware version:
- Make sure that the scanner and computer are connected before turning on the scanner.
- Click the [Start] menu > [fi Series] > [Software Operation Panel].
- After the [Software Operation Panel] starts, click [Device Info] and [+] under [Standard Information].
- The firmware version will be displayed in the [Product Revision] section. Make sure that it is the latest version.
