To ensure stable use of your scanner, regularly clean the scanning section and replace the consumables on your own.
Failure to clean the scanning section may result in misfeeds or a shortened replacement cycle for consumables (such as rollers and pads).
Cleaning
Locations:
- Scanner surface and document support section (document cover, document bed, and document pad)
- Automatic feeding section (pad and rollers)
- Glass
- Sensors
Cleaning methods:
- Use a cloth with no loose fibers (such as a microfiber cloth used for cleaning glasses) to thoroughly remove dirt from the scanner.
- Dirt on the glass section or other parts of the ADF (Automatic Document Feeder) can be difficult to remove. If you have Cleaner F1, slightly moisten the cloth with it to assist in cleaning.
- Be cautious as the glass and metal sections may be hot after scanning. Allow them to cool down before cleaning.
For details about cleaning, also refer to the "Operator's Guide".
Replacing the consumables
Consumables:
After replacing consumables, reset the consumable counters. For detailed instructions on replacing consumables and resetting the counters, refer to the "Operator's Guide."
