- If lines or dots which are not in the document appear in the image, there may be dust or dirt on the glass (including the white part) on the scanning section.
Clean the surface of glass in the ADF (both sides) or on the flatbed entirely.
Remove dirt from the scanning section thoroughly with a cloth that has no loose fibers (such as a cloth for cleaning glasses).

- If you have Cleaner F1, clean the glass sections with a cloth moistened with Cleaner F1. It may be difficult to remove dirt attached to the glass sections or other sections on the scanning section.
- The inside of the ADF becomes very hot when the scanner is being used. Before you start cleaning the inside of the ADF, make sure to turn off the power, unplug the power cable and wait for at least 15 minutes for the inside of the ADF to cool down.

[White Level Follower] may be enabled. Disable [White Level Follower].
The setting can be configured in the [Image] tab > [Cleanup] in the driver settings window.

Enable [Vertical Streaks Reduction]. This function can be used to reduce vertical streaks caused by dust or dirt when scanning from the ADF.
