When there is an issue with the destination settings for DirectScan, the M6:E3 error occurs stating "An error occurred in the communication with the destination. Destination authentication failed. Check the job destination settings." while scanning with DirectScan.
Please verify the settings using the steps below.

Verify the destination settings (shared folder or network path) are correct
Confirm that the shared folder specified as the destination is correctly configured and has the necessary access permissions, such as creating or adding files in the shared folder.
