This feature is not available in the software version bundled with the scanner. It is not supported to extract only a specific part of the scanned barcode values. Please specify a filename that includes the scanned values plus additional elements such as the page counter or document counter.
However, this feature is supported in the paid versions of the software. By upgrading PaperStream Capture to PaperStream Capture Pro or PaperStream Capture Pro Premium, you can configure the software to generate file names using only the scanned barcode value or a specific portion of that value by using the field attributes shown below.
・How to specify filenames containing only the scanned values
- In the [Field Attributes] section, select the [Required] icon, then click the gear icon in the upper-right corner of the icon.
- In the [Alternative option] window, specify any non-empty string in the [Any characters] field.
This will be used as the filename if no value can be scanned from the document.
・How to extract part of the scanned values for use in the filename
- In the [Field Attributes] section, check [Use split] and specify the splitting method. (Only available for barcodes)
- Click the [Add] button and create a new field list. Then select the created field list as the field type, and specify the range.
Note: To specify only the split and extracted values in the filename, follow the same procedure as in "How to specify filenames containing only the scanned values". In the [Field Attributes] section, select the [Required] icon, click the gear icon in the upper-right corner of the icon, and configure the "Alternative Option".
