There are procedures you should perform before and after the Windows upgrade. Please follow the steps below.
- Perform Export Operational Environment and back up the exported file to external storage. (*1)
- Upgrade Windows.
- Run Windows Update to bring the system up to date.
- Install the latest version of drivers and scanning software. (*2)

When replacing with a new PC or reinstalling Windows after initializing the PC, restore the settings backed up in Procedure 1 using Import Operational Environment. (*4)
*1) Making a backup of your settings is recommended in case of data corruption.
*2) Older versions may not function correctly on Windows 11. Depending on your previous version, the screen layout and terms may change in the new version.
*3) If using PaperStream Capture Pro or Pro Premium, also refer to Procedure 2.1 in this article.
