Paper jam or multifeed occurs when using the ADF.

Paper jam or multifeed may be reduced by fanning the documents and put them on the feed tray correctly.
Also, cleaning the scanner may prevent paper jam or multifeed.

How to fan the documents and load the documents on the ADF Paper chute.

1. Hold both ends of the documents and bend them.

   

2. Firmly holding the documents with both hands, bend them back in the opposite direction as follows.

   

3. Repeat steps 1) and 2) a few times.
   
   
4. Rotate the documents by 90 degrees and fan them in the same manner.
   
   
5. Align the edges of the documents.
   
   
6. Load the documents on the ADF Paper chute.
   
   
7. Adjust the ADF Paper chute side guides to the document width.
