If the TWAIN driver cannot be removed even after uninstalling it from [Programs and Features], it is likely that the driver has not been uninstalled completely and the registry information still remains.
Use the uninstallation tool below, which deletes the registry information, then try reinstalling the driver.
- Log on with Administrator privileges.
If there are any scanners connected to your computer, disconnect them. (Alternatively, turn them off.) - Exit any applications that are running.
- Run the following tool on the Setup DVD-ROM that comes with the scanner.

Extensions such as .exe may not be displayed due to your computer's settings. In this case, double-click the icon to run the tool.
The storage folder may differ depending on when the scanner was shipped.
If you have lost the Setup DVD-ROM that came with the scanner, contact the distributor/dealer where you purchased the scanner.
- After "Installation information cleaner" starts up, click [Remove], then click [Yes] when the confirmation message appears.
- When the "Successfully removed." message appears, click [OK].
- Restart your computer, then try installing the TWAIN driver.
- To check whether the driver can be uninstalled successfully, uninstall the TWAIN driver from [Programs and Features].
- Reinstall the TWAIN driver.
