Workaround update: April 17, 2025
The following issues may occur on Windows 11 version 24H2 and Windows 11 LTSC 2024 as of December 25, 2024. (This issue does not occur when a scanner is connected with LAN)
- When operating the fi or SP Series scanner via USB connection on a PC running Windows 11 version 24H2 or Windows 11 LTSC 2024, the device may not be recognized properly.
- In the scanner selection screen of your capturing software, the connection name of the scanner is “WIA No Friendly Name” and the scanner name is not displayed correctly.
(It is only a display issue, and scanning is possible)

Investigation status
We have confirmed that applying the cumulative update (KB5055523) for Windows 11 24H2 fixes the first issue.
The second issue might remain unresolved.
Workarounds
Sign in to Windows with administrator privileges and follow the steps below to apply the cumulative update.

- If a scanner is connected to the PC via USB, disconnect the USB cable.
- Uninstall all PaperStream IP drivers installed on the system.
- Open the Settings app from the Start menu and click on "Windows Update".
- Once the update is applied, restart the PC.
- Open the Settings app from the Start menu and click "System".
- Click "About" and confirm that the "OS build" is "26100.3624" or later.
- Download and install the latest PaperStream IP (*1) from the download page.
- After installation, connect the scanner and confirm that the issue is resolved.
- If a scanner is connected to the PC via USB, disconnect the USB cable.
*1: If you are using PaperStream Capture or PaperStream ClickScan, please use PaperStream IP (TWAIN).
If the above measures do not resolve the issue
- Try the device driver update procedure.
